Gino D'Acampo leaving This Morning until 'sometime' later this year

Gino D'Acampo was back on our screens for This Morning but said it'll be the last time for quite a while.

The television chef joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for his usual slot of morning madness before his cooking segment. While Holly and Phil gave viewers an update on what's to come in today's show, Gino's announcement left both hosts in shock.

Gino noted he was a little bit sad today and when asked to explain why, he said: "I'm going to go to Italy very soon in the next couple of days. So this is my last This Morning." The sudden bombshell left both hosts in shock, questioning Gino on when he plans to return.

Gino said he will be leaving the show until sometime in Autumn or Winter. Finding humour in the moment, Phil said "thank God for that", inviting a sassy clap back from the famous cook.

"Did you just say thank God for that? If you two want to come on to the island of Sardinia we may do something live. Maybe we can do something down the line." Thrilled with the idea, Holly and Phil said they were happy to do so.

As this is his last show, Gino decided to cause some havoc on set, disrupting the fashion segment by becoming a model and joining the hosts as he reads the teleprompter. Viewers watching seemed to enjoy his antics with several noting saying how much they enjoy his "chaos".

@indialola said: "It's just not normal if @Ginofantastico doesnt disrupt something, it's just TV gold, I can't wait for later. I love you Gino xxxxx" @Itt39354118 also added: "hahaha Gino causing turmoil!" Whilst we don't know exactly what Gino is getting up to in Italy, we can expect to see him return several months from now.
