Gino D'Acampo horrifies ITV This Morning caller as Holly applauds her scolding him for advice in 'silly' segment

He's better known for showing viewers how to whip up some Italian dishes in the kitchen, running his chain of restaurants and even hosting Family Fortunes.

But what we don't get very often is Gino D'Acampo turning agony uncle on This Morning.

Well, on Tuesday's edition of the ITV daytime show, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were joined by the celebrity chef for his latest phone-in segment.

Gino, 45, first took on his own agony uncle part back in November before returning again a couple of weeks ago. Upon his return, there were no subjects off limits as Gino got stuck into dishing out advice.

During the phone-in, Gino left one caller mortified after she called in to ask the chef about ways to spice up her marriage.

The caller explained: "While I’m very, very happily married, sometimes, Gino, you just need that little bit of extra spice, and I thought with you being an international love god and a world famous chef, I cannot wait to hear your fabulous tips."

Gino was talking to a viewer named Julia (ITV)

The chef replied to the viewer, named Julia: "You want a bit of spice in your life? I’m going to tread very carefully here. I think what you should do if you want to put spice in your marriage, is to try something that you haven’t tried before."

He then continued: "So, if you want to break down some boundaries within the limit of what you think your husband will accept - an example: try to have a threesome."

Holly and Philip's jaws dropped before they burst out laughing at Gino's frank advice with mum of three Holly exclaiming: "Oh my God," before covering her face.

Responding to the reaction in the studio, Gino continued: "Why not? Listen, you just get someone else you want and see what's going to happen."

Even the hosts were stunned by Gino's comments (ITV)

Julia then replied: "Don't be so ridiculous," to which Holly then quipped: "In one moment you’ve said something we’ve all been wanting to say for years."

The caller then said: "I would rather have a kidney out with no anesthetic than have a threesome, thank you very much."

Gino then said in response: "If it's only going to be the two of you, again, put some boundaries down - try something that you never tried to do. Play, before adding: "It's good to push the boundaries and try something different and try something that you've never done before and see what happens."

And while Julia didn't seem too happy about the initial advice, This Morning viewers were flocking to social media to laugh about the no holds barred conversation.

@RDouglas18 tweeted: "What the hell am I watching? #AskGino #ThisMorning it’s pure TV gold."

"Gino did not just say threesome on day time tv I am screaming #ThisMorning," @badgalrhix said.

The advice sometimes got a bit too much (ITV)

@afl2277 commented: "Just love Gino, he’s hilarious."

"If @Ginofantastico doesnt get his own programme called 'Ask Gino' then its an absolute disgrace #ThisMorning," @cowieloon shared.

But not all of This Morning's viewers were impressed by the segment -particularly after another saucy conversation on Monday's show.

"Yesterday, that Vanessa segment, today, Ask Gino! Has the watershed changed times or something! #ThisMorning," @ShakyWoon said.

@Colabubble tweeted: "#thismorning @thismorning I've got to say.. I don't mind a bit of light entertainment but this #gino segment is just a bit too silly."

"FFS the ridiculous phone in with Gino. Still giggling about sausages is very, very boring. Pathetic how they try to make everything about sex. #thismorning," @IckieBickie fumed.

@suzysasha commented: "#ThisMorning What an utterly pointless phone in! Waste of time. I like Gino but his answers are ridiculous."
