Gino D'Acampo has spent months away from This Morning but he's back - and the chaos has come with him. The Italian chef took a break from appearing in the ITV daytime show's kitchen earlier this year as he spent his summer in Sardina.
He has made brief appearances on the show with his own pre-recorded cooking segments and also appeared earlier this month from his hot tub at his Italian home. He could be seen reclining in the bubbling tub next to a swimming pool for a chat with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
Gino was talking about his new show, Gino’s Italy: Like Mamma Used To Make, which sees him return to his native country on a personal food odyssey to celebrate the women who have fed Italy and shaped the country’s cuisine, starting in his place of birth where he learned to cook in the kitchens of his Nonna Flora and Mamma Alba.

But on Thursday (September 29), Gino was back in person and things appear not to have changed much since he left. As usual, Holly and Phillip appeared on ITV's Lorraine, who was today being hosted by Christine Lampard, to tease what was coming on the latest episode of This Morning.
As they shared how Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Simmonds would be dancing her way into the studio alongside her professional partner Nikita Kumzin and how Stacey Solomon-Swash will be appeared to chat about her new book and recent wedding, the pair had their moment gatecrashed.
As they went to tell viewers that Gino would be in the kitchen, he stormed into shot saying; "I can do that myself!" Holly tried to continue, saying someone had let the chef 'in the studio', but Gino wanted to have his moment. "I'm going to present This Morning, that's it. You two can go in the kitchen, let me do what I do best."
Holly tried hitting Gino with a cushion while Phillip counted him down before they had to finish off their link to Christine. A desperate Holly then said: "Please, take away," as Phillip pleaded: "Just go. Cut off!"
But that wasn't the end of his antics as he really did try and take over This Morning. Sat on the famous sofa, he opened the show saying: "Hello and welcome to This Morning. Yes, today is going to be a Gino special. It's going to be all about me because finally I've taken over the show."
As he carried on, he introduced Holly and Phillip who were in the kitchen. As he asked what they were cooking, Gino added in: "It's all about me, not about you two." He tried to get validation from the hosts for his presenting skills but ended up getting a bit confused with which camera he should be talking at.
Eventually, Holly and Phillip got to sit in their usual seats and kicked Gino out back into the kitchen. But as Holly dived over he asked: "Why are you dressed like the Flintstones," referring to the animal-print dress she chose to wear for the latest show. "Where is the bone?" he then cheekily asked.
"You look beautiful, like the Flintstones," Gino added as he wandered off to the kitchen as Holly said; "Well it's too late now!" And This Morning viewers were quick to respond to the opening antics.
@RLTaylorBBCNews tweeted: "GINO BACK! WE MISSED HIM!! #ThisMorning bonjourino again Gino D'Acampo!" @Tom_Muzzy_2001 posted: "Love Gino #ThisMorning," with a string of crying laughing emojis. @Mofoman360 said: "Gino is a legend #ThisMorning."
Others, however, weren't as impressed. @StewTRob tweeted: "Turn on the telly it's Gino all about himself #ThisMorning." @Jensau fumed: "WTF? Not 'oh I'm so funny and cheeky' bloody Gino presenting #ThisMorning That's me switching channels!" @LauraPa79602511 shared: "Why does Gino get so much air time #ThisMorning."
