Gini Wijnaldum offered to Jose Mourinho's Roma as Liverpool transfer stance clear

Gini Wijnaldum has been offered the chance to move to Serie A side Roma, according to a fresh claim, after a forgettable first year with Paris Saint-Germain following his move from Liverpool.

Reports in Italy are suggesting the Dutchman has been offered to Jose Mourinho at Roma. However, they also suggest the Giallorossi would struggle to pay the wages he earns at the Ligue 1 side. The 31-year-old joined PSG last summer after failing to agree terms on a new contract to remain with Liverpool.

Wijnaldum's time in Paris hasn't quite gone to plan. He was named Ligue 1 Flop of the Year and also lost his place in the Holland squad due to a lack of game time for PSG.

Earlier this summer there were rumours suggesting that Wijnaldum could return to Anfield. But the ECHO reported at the time that the Reds would not be making a move to re-sign their former player. Jurgen Klopp is happy with the options he has in the middle of the pitch. And, while the Liverpool boss is an admirer of Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham, any move is not expected until next summer.

Wijnaldum has also been linked with a return to the Premier League with other clubs. Tottenham Hotspur were said to be interested in the January transfer window while, more recently, Frank Lampard's Everton were rumoured to be considering making a move for the Netherlands international.
