The Gina Rinehart-owned S. Kidman & Co. has sold four of its cattle stations spanning 2.4 million hectares.
The sale included Durrie, Naryilco, and Glengyle stations in the Channel Country of Queensland, which were bought by the Appleton Cattle Company.
Brunchilly Station in the Northern Territory, which includes the Banka Banka East pastoral lease, has been bought by the Harris family, which owns the neighbouring Rockhampton Downs.
In a statement to ABC Rural, S. Kidman & Co. said the stations had been bought by "Australians who are experienced in cattle operations".
"The sale of these properties is consistent with S. Kidman & Co.'s strategy of divesting properties where significant investment has improved them," it said.
The company has not disclosed the sale price.
What is left of the famous Kidman portfolio?
The Kidman portfolio of stations was founded by pastoral legend Sir Sidney Kidman in the 1890s and when it was advertised for sale in 2015, covered almost 11 million hectares.
S.Kidman & Co. was bought by Gina Rinehart's Hancock Prospecting in partnership with the Chinese-owned CRED pastoral in 2016.
The deal, worth $386.5 million, included cattle stations stretched across Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory — but did not include the defence-sensitive Anna Creek Station.
Seven years after the sale, the original portfolio established by Sir Sidney Kidman has been reduced to just four properties covering around 2 million hectares: Helen Springs in the NT, and Morney Plains, Durham Downs and Rockybank in Queensland.
S. Kidman & Co. said it remained committed to preserving the Kidman legacy and history, "including retaining all Kidman intellectual property, including logos, business names and marketing brands".
"S. Kidman & Co. will further focus on expanding its grain-fed Santa Gertrudis and Kidman Premium beef brands, which utilise a combination of Santa and Wagyu genetics," it said.
The company said the sale of the four stations would assist in providing further capital to focus on purchasing and improving other properties for S. Kidman & Co.'s agricultural operations.
Hancock Prospecting still owns several grazing and cropping properties in New South Wales, Queensland, and Western Australia, and runs one of Australia's largest herds of Fullblood Wagyu cattle.
