A woman who worked on the set of Gilmore Girls has now answered the question every fan was left asking after that shock pregnancy cliffhanger. As viewers will no doubt recall, the final episode of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life wrapped up with Rory (Alexis Bledel) telling mum Lorelai (Lauren Graham) that she was pregnant, with three simple words - 'mom, I'm pregnant'.
The scene ended with Lorelai shooting her daughter a look of complete surprise, but the famously talkative character didn't get a chance to respond before the credits rolled. Equally stunned fans were of course keen to know more and were desperate to know who exactly the father was. For six long years, however, we've been left on tenterhooks, left to speculate and debate - until now.
Valerie Campbell, who worked as the costume supervisor for A Year in the Life, has now finally revealed who the father is, and really, it seems quite obvious looking back.
Addressing TikTok followers in a recent video, Valerie, who goes by the username @valeriescateyescream, said: "So let's do the math. In winter, she (Rory) is sleeping with Paul - maybe, maybe not, I don't know - she might have forgotten to do it, but she definitely forgot to break up with that guy. But she definitely wasn't sleeping with him."
She continued: "Spring, she sleeps with the Wookie once. And if it was the Wookie, she would definitely be showing and we never gave her a pregnancy belly, that is very, very important.
"We never gave her one, we were never instructed to give her one. It is definitely not the Wookie. Then the obvious choice is, you guessed it, Logan. Amy [Sherman-Palladino] herself said, 'Why were people even questioning who the father is?' It's because it was supposed to be very, very, very, very, very, very obvious."
Valerie's followers were left stunned by this revelation but ultimately agreed that worked perfectly within the overall arc of the beloved show.
One person commented: "It was very obvious because Logan is Rory's Christopher - she became just like Lorelai."
Another agreed: "I've been saying all along that Logan was the father but Rory will end up with Jesse 'cause he's her Luke."
A third remarked: "It's Logan but Jess is going to be the best stepdad ever!"
