Gilmore Girls hunks reunite after 22 years for brand new drama series

Gilmore Girls hunks Chad Michael Murray and Scott Patterson have reunited for a new Canadian series, with reports now revealing that it's coming to the US too.

Enthralling fans of the noughties comedy drama show in which they're both adored for starring in, fans are overjoyed that Sullivan's Crossing will hit screens in the US this fall.

Chad and Scott, who played Tristan Dugray and Luke Danes in the coming of age programme respectively, will soon come together on TV screens in the new CW show.

The 10-episode family drama, which was adapted from Robyn Carr's book series, will see the actors star alongside Batwoman's Morgan Kohan.

Sullivan's Corrsing is currently airing on CTV in Canada and is set to hit American TV screens this coming fall.

The upcoming show's synopsis reads: "Maggie Sullivan (Kohan) is a star neurosurgeon who seemingly has it all, until her business partner is indicted for fraud and she finds herself charged with negligence.

"Looking to distance herself from the fallout, Maggie decides to leave Boston and return to her childhood home of Sullivan's Crossing, a rustic and remote campground set against the stunning coastline."

In the series Scott will portray Maggie's estranged father Sully Sullivan, who runs the campground, while Chad takes on the role as love interest Cal Jones.

Sharing the news on his Instagram account, Chad left fans in a state of excitement when he announced: "I'm coming home..."

Uploading a screenshot of the news that CW has picked up the drama series, Chad added: "For all those who've been asking when Sullivan's Crossing will be playing in the US, here you go.

"I'm excited to head back to where it all started for me. Thank you CW and I'll see y'all soon."

His co-star Scott was quick to add: "Looking forward to it," while fans flocked to the comments to swoon over the reunion of the two Gilmore Girls alums.

"Tristan and Luke?!!" asked one fan in disbelief, while another gushed: "This just feels right."

A third then added: "That's cool. Can't help but think of the fact you were both in Gilmore Girls, although I don't think you ever had any scenes together."

The new family drama is from executive producers Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry, who are behind hit Netflix series Virgin River.

Deadline reports that CW's entertainment president has said of the show: “Sullivan’s Crossing is an emotionally rich, authentic family drama that will immediately resonate with audiences thanks to an incredible cast and relatable themes of self-reflection, second chances and the power of community."

Gilmore Girls fans will know Chad and Scott from their stints in Gilmore Girls, with the former playing Tristan Dugray, who was classmates with Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), had a huge crush on her and then left in the second season.

Meanwhile Scott took on the role of Luke Danes, the local diner owner who sparked a romance with Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham).
