Gillian McKeith has hit out at the public for putting her 'through hell' during her first stint on I'm A Celebrity, as she makes a shocking return to the show for its All Star series.
You Are What You Eat star Gillian was entertaining for all the wrong reasons when she appeared as contestant on I'm A Celebrity back in 2010, alongside Shaun Ryder, who has also gone back for a second slice of the action. As well as feuding with her co-stars and complaining about pretty much everything, Gillian also gave the ITV programme one of its most iconic moments, when she fainted in front of presenters Ant and Dec during a live televised trial.
I'm A Celebrity All Stars kicked off on Monday night with a line-up that includes Paul Burrell, Amir Khan and Helen Flanagan and the worst kept secret in TV at the moment is the fact that the first nine stars will be joined by some late arrivals,. one of them being Gillian
ITV viewers will get their first look at Gillian in action in South Africa on Tuesday night's show and, before she even set foot in camp. Gillian had something to say about how grateful she was that the public couldn't pit her in the firing line for every Bushtucker trial.
The 63-year-old told ITV: "“I’ve never been to South Africa before and I know there are going to be twists and turns, but maybe because the public aren’t voting I will actually have a nice time!"
Admitting she was full of trepidation for going back on I'[m A Celebrity, Gillian added: "Now when I think about doing I’m A Celebrity again, I feel apprehensive and petrified. It’s going to be more terrifying this time because back then, I didn’t know what to expect but this time I can’t use that as an excuse. What I felt before feels 1000 times worse now and all of it freaks me out but I feel I’ve got a calling to represent all the scaredy cats in Britain – and that is the reason why I’ve said yes.”
