Giants worked out Mohamed Kamara at Colorado State Pro Day

The New York Giants worked out edge rusher Mohamed Kamara at the Colorado State Pro Day on Monday.

Troy Pauline of Sportskeeda first reported the workout.

Edge rusher Mohamed Kamara stood on most of this numbers from his outstanding Combine workout. Kamara ran the short shuttle (4.45 seconds) and three cone (7.34 seconds).

He was then put through a bunch of pass rushing drills by the New York Giants and Kamara looked good. The Giants like Kamara, who they view as a potential back-up/rotational pass rusher in their system.

Kamara, a fifth-year senior defensive end, had an impressive combine where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds while also jumping 34.5-inches in the vertical leap. He backed up these numbers with some strong agility testing feats in his Pro Day, running the short shuttle in 4.45 seconds and the three cone drill in 7.34 seconds.

Kamara’s athleticism is clearly at a high-pro level and his college production also follows suit as in five years at Colorado State, Kamara posted 45.5 tackles for loss and 29.5 sacks (17 tackles for loss and 13 sacks in his last season).

While the competition of play was not that of a power five-level, Kamara was extremely productive making him a Day 3 prospect in the 2024 NFL draft.

After the athleticism testing, the New Jersey native was put through a series of pass-rushing drills by the Giants where he once again excelled.

Kamara projects to be a solid rotational piece that could develop into a starter as he refines his game. Right now, East Rutherford would probably be one of the better places he could end up as he would join a pass-rushing core that features Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, and Dexter Lawrence.
