The New York Giants benched Tommy DeVito at halftime of Monday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and they’ll keep him on the sidelines this week when they host the Los Angeles Rams. Brian Daboll announced Wednesday that veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor will get the start Sunday against the Rams.
Taylor finished Monday’s game against the Eagles and threw for 133 yards and a touchdown with one interception in the 33-25 loss. His Hail Mary in the final seconds was intercepted, ending a miraculous comeback attempt by New York.
This will be Taylor’s fourth start of the season and 10th game overall. He’s thrown for 725 yards and three touchdowns with only one interception in games he’s played for New York this season. His best performance was against Washington when he threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns, totaling 298 yards passing and rushing combined.
And Tyrod Taylor takes over as the Giants’ starting QB on Sunday vs. the Rams.
