Giants vs. Rams: 3 best player prop bets for Week 17

The New York Giants (5-10) host the Los Angeles Rams (8-7) at MetLife Stadium on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve in a game that has postseason implications (for the Rams, that is).

Los Angeles is favored by 4.5 points, down from 6.5 earlier in the week. The over/under is 44.5 total points, BetMGM.

There’s some key to be made in this game for bettors somewhere other than the spread and the over/under, however.

Here are three prop bets to consider in Week 17.

Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp OVER 5.0 receptions (-125, -135)

Not a bet that will cause you to quit your day job but Puka Nacua is healthy again and appears to be taking back the target share from Cooper Kupp the past few games and now both are getting massive opportunities.

With the Giants’ top two corners — Deonte Banks (shoulder) and Adoree’ Jackson (ankle) — both on the injury report, they will have a difficult time deciding who to focus on.

My take is they won’t be able to shut either down. The Giants have allowed an average of 24 receptions to wide receivers over their last three games and that should continue this week.

Giants OVER 17.5 total points (-145)

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The Giants will be starting Tyrod Taylor at quarterback this week which should give them a bit more stability on offense.

The Rams have allowed an average of 29.7 points per game over their last three and are getting into high-scoring affairs of late.

The Rams have a turnover differential of -1 on the season to the Giants’ +7. New York could get themselves a few takeaways that will give them more opportunities to score. I like this bet.

Kyren Williams OVER 94.5 rushing yards (-115)

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Kyren Williams is second in the NFL in rushing yards this season and has been hot the past six weeks averaging 125.5 YPG.

The Giants have been allowing 126.7 YPG on the ground over their last three.

With the Rams needing a win to clinch a playoff spot, they’ll have their best players on the field even if they have a comfortable lead. That means Williams could be piling up yards until late in the game.
