The New York Giants (2-7) travel down to the Lone Star State to face their long-time rivals, the Dallas Cowboys (5-3), this Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium.
Here are five storylines to follow in Week 10.
More torture for Giant fans
The Giants will once again have their dirty laundry aired out in front of the entire nation as they will be featured on America’s Game of the Week on FOX.
The whole country will once again get to witness the dumpster fire the New York Football Giants have become.
FOX will send their No. 1 broadcast team of Kevin Burkhardt, Greg Olsen, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi, who undoubtedly could be used elsewhere this week.
The ratings should be fairly positive regardless, which just adds to the frustration and embarrassment of the Giants and their fans unless something cataclysmic happens and they manage to play a competitive game.
Tommy DeVito will start at quarterback
If someone told you that Tommy DeVito, an undrafted free agent rookie, was going to be the Giants’ best option at quarterback in Week 10, a million things would have gone through your mind — all bad.
DeVito, after coming in relief the past two weeks for Tyrod Taylor and Daniel Jones, respectively, will indeed draw the start this Sunday in Dallas and could be the starter until Taylor returns in three weeks.
Saquon the Savior
Before the season began, the Giants and star running back Saquon Barkley were quibbling over how much the Pro Bowler should be paid. The Giants stuck to their guns and basically won out, only surrendering a sliver more in bonus money to Barkley.
Two and half months later, all of that appears trivial now. Barkley is the only thing the Giants have that resembles a weapon on offense as they head into Dallas this week.
Let’s be clear. They are last in offense with him. Imagine where they’d be without him.
Another week, another offensive line
Heading into Week 10, the Giants will once again start a different five players on the offensive line. The same five players have not started in consecutive weeks all season.
This week, they will be downright tackle Evan Neal (ankle) which, to many Giant fans, is no big loss anyway as many are calling him a bust on social media.
The Cowboys won’t care much about who the Giants roll out this week. They’ve been dominating the Giants for six years now.
Just lose, baby
Giant fans are already counting down the days to next year’s NFL draft. Even if they stumble into a few wins over the next two months, they’ll still be in a position to draft a top quarterback come April.
This is all under the assumption that the Giants have given up the ship on Daniel Jones. If they haven’t, then a sanity check in is order for the powers that be.
The fans will take the losing only if there is light at the end of the tunnel in the form of Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.
