The New York Giants defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football.
This was a much-needed win for Big Blue as they picked up their first division win of the season against a team that is also competing for the last two wild card spots in the NFC.
This was a hard-fought 20-12 win for New York that came on the back of their rookie edge rusher, Kayvon Thibodeaux. The former Oregon Duck was having a solid rookie campaign so far and was ramping up in recent games with more sacks and pressures. However, in prime time he had his coming out party and showed everyone his dominance.
He recorded 12 total tackles (nine solo tackles), three tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown on the night.
Thibodeaux was a one-man wrecking machine and helped New York start its much-needed playoff push. His touchdown was the real difference maker in the game and that is why he gets his second Giants Wire Player of the Game.
