The Washington Commanders (4-6) play host to their longest NFL rivals, the New York Giants (2-8), at FedEx Field this Sunday afternoon.
Here are three prop bets for your consideration, per BetMGM.
Sam Howell OVER 245.5 passing yards (-115)
Sam Howell has been heating up as of late riding a streak of three straight games of over 300-plus yards passing.
In the first meeting, Howell was held to 197 yards passing, but a lot has changed since then. The Giants have fallen off a cliff and have the longest injury list they’ve had all season.
Cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson (concussion) and Deonte Banks (ankle) are hurting, as are linebackers Bobby Okereke (hip) and Kayvon Thibodeaux (concussion). Both starting safeties were limited on Wednesday (back to full on Thursday), as was slot corner Cor’Dale Flott.
The Giants allowed 404 yards through the air against Dallas last week, so they are reeling a bit.
Saquon Barkley OVER 68.5 rushing yards (-120)
The Commanders have allowed teams to rush for 100 or more yards in eight of their 10 games this season.
Saquon Barkley is averaging 81.1 yards rushing per game this year on a bad ankle.
Last week, Barkley only had 66 yards on the ground (but averaged 5.1 YPC) as gamescript had the Giants down by several scores early in the game.
Commanders win by 7-12 points (+325)
This looks like an easy bet, but it’s really not. The spread at present time is Commanders -9.5, so oddsmakers have zero confidence in the Giants’ offense with rookie Tommy DeVito under center.
Washington is expected to win this game, but…
The Commanders have played in five straight games in which the game was decided by a touchdown or less. In the three games the two clubs have met in the Brian Daboll era, the Giants are 2-0-1 against Washington.
If you like the Commanders to win by six or less, you can get +350. Go figure.
