Giants’ Tyrone Tracy Jr. nominated for Pepsi Rookie of the Week

New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. is one of five nominees for the Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 5, the NFL announced on Tuesday.

Tracy, a fifth-round pick out of Iowa in this past April’s NFL draft, started in place of the injured Devin Singletary in the Giants’ 29-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on the road last Sunday.

Tracy rushed for 129 yards on 18 carries, gaining 7.2 yards per attempt.

More on Tracy from the Giants…

Became the first rookie running back since Ahmad Bradshaw (at Buffalo, 12/23/07) to average over seven yards-per-carry with at least 15 attempts. His 129 rushing yards, which led the NFL in Week 5, were the most by a Giants rookie running back since Saquon Barkley rushed for 170 yards at Washington (12/9/18) and the most by a Giant in the first career start.

Tracy is nominated this week along with quarterbacks Jayden Daniels (Commanders), Bo Nix (Broncos), Caleb Williams (Bears), wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (Jaguars), and tight end Brock Bowers (Raiders).
