The New York Giants officially signed quarterback Tyrod Taylor on Thursday and immediately introduced him to local reporters.
As anticipated, one of the first questions Taylor fielded was about his role with the Giants. Was he signed to be a backup? Was he signed to be a starter? Will he compete with or mentor Daniel Jones?
Always the professional, Taylor responded without directly answering any of the questions with the exception of one: Will he mentor Jones and others in the quarterback room?
Yes.
Tyrod Taylor wouldn’t directly answer a question about if he was brought in to be a backup or a starter. Said he always prepares as if he’s going to start anyway. #Giants
