Giants’ Sterling Shepard plans to play vs. Titans

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard should be out on the field versus the Tennessee Titans this Sunday afternoon, less than nine months after suffering a serious Achilles injury.

Shepard only played in seven games last season, starting six. He hasn’t played more than 12 games in a season since 2018 and has played a full season twice in his six year NFL career.

The Giants have no idea what they have at wide receiver heading into the season with Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney both coming off injury-laden seasons and rookie Wan’Dale Robinson an unknown entity. Shepard now becomes their most reliable receiving option.

The Giants still have Darius Slayton, Davis Sills, as well as free agent Richie James in the fold, so they can actually become a solid unit should everyone stay healthy and on the field this year.
