When the New York Giants signed wide receiver Kenny Golladay last offseason, many believed he would vastly improve the offense and help the team turn a corner and be a contender once again.
Instead, Golladay, the Giants’ offense and the team in general somehow got worse in 2021. Hopefully, under the new regime things, will get better.
But going back in time, following the signing of Golladay, everyone talked about the weapons around Daniel Jones which included a wide receiver group that featured the aforementioned Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton and rookie Kadarius Toney.
Coincidentally, while the Giants didn’t perform like it, Big Blue’s wide receivers were the highest-paid in 2021 and certainly did not live up to their contacts.
the most expensive WR room in 2022?
the New York Giants, at $40,152,615
the fewest TDs by a WR room in 2021?
the New York Giants, at 5 TDs
not only was it the fewest in 2021
it was the fewest by any WR room since 2017
and now they're the most expensive WR room in the NFL 😂

With Golladay’s mega-deal and Shepard’s lucrative deal he signed a few years back, the Giants certainly had a lot of money invested into the receiver core and it’s a discouraging stat to look at just how much they underperformed last year.
Brian Daboll’s system will hopefully be a favorable one for the Giants and, in particular, Kenny Golladay, who failed to find the end zone in 2021. With the money the Giants invested in him, Big Blue is certainly hoping and expecting the former Detroit Lions wideout to improve going into 2022.
