Just days after the return of linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux, the New York Giants have placed fellow linebacker Azeez Ojulari on injured reserve (IR).
Ojulari, who had played well in an increased role, left Sunday’s humiliating loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a toe issue and did not return. He will now miss a minimum of four weeks but has likely played his last snap for the Giants.
Although Ojulari’s toe injury is reportedly very painful, it is “not major” and will not require surgery.
In a corresponding roster move, the Giants have claimed tight end Greg Dulcich off of waivers from the Denver Broncos.
The 24-year-old Dulcich was a third-round pick of the Broncos in the 2022 NFL draft. He has appeared in 16 career games (10 starts), recording 41 receptions for 464 yards, and two touchdowns.
Before being waived earlier this week, Dulcich had appeared in four games (three starts) while hauling in five receptions for 28 yards. He has an overall Pro Football Focus grade of just 38.4 this season.
Finally, the Giants are also expected to sign linebacker Tomon Fox back to their practice squad. He has no elevations left this season.
