After being cut by the Denver Broncos on Monday, tight end Greg Dulcich was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants on Tuesday.
Dulcich (6-4, 245 pounds) entered the league with plenty of potential in 2022, but his career has been derailed by injuries. After the UCLA tight end ran a 40-yard dash in 4.69 seconds at the NFL combine, the Broncos used a third-round pick to draft him in 2022.
He showed some promise when healthy as a rookie, hauling in 33 receptions for 411 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. He was then sidelined by injuries for most of the 2023 season before winning a starting job this summer.
Dulcich did not impress early in the season. He caught five passes for 28 yards through the first four weeks but struggled as a blocker and was benched in Week 5. Dulcuch was then inactive for eight straight games before being cut by Denver on Monday.
The Broncos tried to trade Dulcich ahead of the NFL’s deadline earlier this month but they were unable to find any suitors. The 24-year-old tight end will now get a fresh start with the Giants after being cut by Denver.
