Giants ‘on Death Row’ After Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley Moves, Keyshawn Johnson Says

After a disastrous performance on Monday Night Football, many are now questioning the talents of Giants quarterback Daniel Jones.

With Jones owning a disappointing 2-to-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio through four games this season, the front office has come under fire after opting to sign Jones to a massive, four-year $160 million contract extension in the offseason.

On Undisputed on Tuesday, Super Bowl XXXVII champion wideout Keyshawn Johnson stated that the organization’s decision to sign Jones to a long-term deal over running back Saquon Barkley has left the club on “death row.”

“When Saquon Barkley’s in the backfield, Daniel Jones is a different player. When they decided to pay Daniel Jones and not pay Saquon Barkley, they basically put themselves on death row,” said Johnson.

Despite being forced to play behind an offensive line that allowed Jones to be sacked 10 times on Monday night, the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver believes New York’s signal-caller has regressed from his solid 2022 campaign.

“They were overmatched. Daniel Jones has been known to panic... He just panics. He does things that make zero sense for a starting quarterback in New York City, making $160 million [$90-plus million fully guaranteed]... For whatever reason, he’s regressed from a year ago,” added Johnson.

Daniel Jones was sacked 10 times in the Giants’ 24–3 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.

The much-maligned quarterback will look to get back on track when the Giants head to Miami to take on Tua Tagovailoa and the powerful Dolphins on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
