Giants offensive rookies accomplish rare NFL feat

The 2024 campaign has been a miserable one for the New York Giants. Now. 3-13 after Sunday’s improbable blowout win over the Colts, little has gone well for Big Blue this season. Yet there is hope, thanks to two brightly shining rookie lights.

In Sunday’s win, the Giants had two rookies surpass the 1,000-yard mark in scrimmage yards. First-round wideout Malik Nabers scorched past the millennium mark with a 171-yard outing, landing the talented Nabers with 1,140 receiving yards on 104 catches through 16 games–though Nabers has played in just 14.

Running back Tyrone Tracy, a fourth-round pick out of Purdue, also hit the 1,000-yard mark for the season. Tracy leads the Giants with 780 rushing yards and has also posted 277 receiving yards on 35 catches.

That makes Nabers and Tracy just the second rookie tandem to top 1,000 yards from scrimmage together in the Super Bowl era. These Giants join Reggie Bush and Marques Colston from the 2006 Saints as the only rookie duo to each hit the 1,000-yard mark.

New York may have some serious quarterback issues, but in Nabers and Tracy, they do have some impressive young pieces to build an offense around.
