For the second time in two days, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen packaged some picks in order to move up and snag their target in the 2023 NFL draft.
On Thursday night, the move up netted the Giants Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks. On Day 2, it resulted in the selection of Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt at No. 73 overall (Round 3).
The addition of Hyatt gives the Giants a potential homerun threat, adding a whole new element to their offense.
Here are the full details of the trade:
- Giants receive pick No. 73
- Rams receive picks Nos 89 and 128
With the trade, the Giants are down to seven total picks (technically four remaining). They are as follows:
Round 1, Pick 24Round 2, Pick 57Round 3, Pick 73- Round 5, Pick 172
- Round 6, Pick 209 (via Chiefs)
- Round 7, Pick 243
- Round 7, Pick 254
Even though the Giants are now running low on draft stock, don’t expect Schoen to sit on his hands. He may very well trade up again at some point on Day 3.
