The New York Giants spent Monday linking their wounds after getting blown out, 40-0, by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
“There were a few things you can build on but when you get beat like the way we got beat, no excuses,” head coach Brian Daboll told reporters. “I’d say there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, a lot of corrections that need to be made and that’s what we’ll do today.”
Buy Giants TicketsThe insult was accompanied by injury, most notably at left tackle, where starter Andrew Thomas and his primary backup, Matt Peart, both left the game with leg injuries.
Daboll said he would have the results on Thomas on Wednesday and that Peart was still being evaluated.
Other than those two, Daboll said the team “came out fairly clean” injury-wise and added that rookie cornerback Deonte Banks, who left the game with cramps, was “heading in the right direction.”
Should Thomas and Peart be unavailable for Sunday’s game in Arizona, the next man up at left tackle is Joshua Ezeudu. The second-year lineman out of North Carolina is a versatile player who can play all over the line but asking him to start at left tackle could be reaching a bit.
