Giants hosting Landon Collins for visit, Solomon Kindley for workout

Are the New York Giants and former All-Pro safety Landon Collins headed for a reunion? Could be — Collins is reportedly meeting with Big Blue on Monday.

The news comes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Collins, still just 28, was the Giants’ second-round pick out of Alabama back in 2015 and went on to become a first-team All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler for Big Blue.

Collins and the Giants parted ways after the 2018 season and he signed on with Washington, where he continued to be productive for the next three seasons.

His 2020 season was interrupted by a torn Achilles but he rebounded last season to play in 13 games.

Collins could be a perfect fit for the Giants as defensive coordinator Wink Martindale uses his safeties in hybrid linebacker roles. That is essentially what Collins has been his entire career.

He is the prototype box safety and depending on his physical status, he could end up back in Blue very soon. On Sunday, starter Julian Love left the Giants’ game versus the Chicago Bears with a concussion, so there is also a need at safety as well.

Also, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Giants are hosting offensive lineman Solomon Kindley for a workout. Kindley is a former fourth-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2020.
