Giants elevate Tomon Fox from practice squad

The New York Giants have elevated linebacker Tomon Fox from their practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium.

For Fox, this is his second standard elevation. He was previously activated ahead of a Week 2 game against the Washington Commanders. He has one remaining.

During that game against the Commanders, Fox took 19 special teams snaps but did not take a single defensive snap.

Fox originally signed with the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent out of North Carolina in 2022. He has appeared in 18 career games (one start), recording 25 tackles (16 solo, three for a loss), one QB hit and one sack.

Most of Fox’s production came as a rookie in 2022. Since then, he’s appeared in just two games — one in 2023 and the aforementioned game against Washington.

With Kayvon Thibodeaux (wrist) on injured reserve (IR) and Brian Burns dealing with a groin injury, it makes sense to elevate Fox. However, if Burns suits up on Sunday afternoon, he will likely be limited to a special teams role.
