Giants’ Dexter Lawrence named to first-ever The Players’ All-Pro Team

The Associated Press will announce the 2022 All-Pro Team this week but before they take the stage, the NFLPA decided to.

For the first time in NFL history, players from across the league were allowed to vote on their own All-Pro Team.

This year, we made the call with the first Players’ All-Pro Team. We asked players across the league to select who had the most impact this season. The players were tasked with voting for the best player at their same position and positions they line up against. Here are the results.

For more specific details on the process, you can read the NFLPA’s explanation of the rules here.

As it relates to the first-ever The Players’ All-Pro Team, one member of the New York Giants made the cut: nose tackle Dexter Lawrence.

Lawrence had also previously been named to the Pro Football Focus All-Pro Team alongside left tackle Andrew Thomas.

Thomas did not make The Player’s All-Pro Team, who gave the honor to San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams.

The 25-year-old Lawrence has been, by far, the most dominant nose tackle in the NFL this season and is arguably one of the most valuable players in the league. He’s recorded 68 tackles (seven for a loss), two forced fumbles, three passes defensed, 28 QB hits, and 7.5 sacks in 16 games this season.

Lawrence has also generated 40 pressures from the A-gap this year, which is 27 more than the next closest to him (D.J. Jones, 13).
