The New York Giants are having a crummy start to the season, and life won’t get any easier as the team faces the explosive Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale didn’t hide how nerve-wracking it is to prepare for an offense like the one Miami has, and he found a very funny way to describe how his preparation process is going.
Martindale told reporters on Thursday that he’s “sleeping like a baby” this week while getting ready for the Dolphins. Well, he said he’s sleeping like the kind of baby that has a real hard time staying down at night.
“Every two hours I wake up and cry and go to the bathroom and try to go back and get some more sleep,” Martindale joked about his sleepless nights trying to get ready for the Miami game.

Martindale says that the Dolphins’ offense is “unbelievable” and reminds him of the St. Louis Rams’ “Greatest Show on Turf” that stymied defenses back in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
That’s a high compliment from a bright mind like Martindale’s, and we’re hoping he’s able to get at least a little shut eye before New York’s big game this weekend.
