Giants’ Daniel Jones is ‘ready to go’ after ACL recovery

This Saturday, the New York Giants travel to The Lone Star State to face the Houston Texans. It will be the first time quarterback Daniel Jones has seen in-game action since Week 9 of the 2023 season when he went down with a torn ACL.

Since then, Jones has undergone surgery and worked his way back to playing condition.

Jones didn’t appear in the first preseason game, so this will be everyone’s first look at the Jones-to-Malik Nabers connection. But Jones has different goals to accomplish on Saturday.

“For one, it’s the first time out in the game situation, live situation,” Jones said on Thursday. “So, you want the operation to be clean, in and out of the huddle at the line of scrimmage, communicating with the guys and making sure we’re ready to go. And then obviously you expect a high level of execution.

“I think we want to take what we’ve practiced, what we’ve prepared and put it on the field. It won’t be perfect, but we expect it to be good. So, I think we’re ready to go.”

Jones is no doubt anxious to see how it feels to be at game speed and see how his newly acquired weapons perform in a game situation. The offense still has a lot to learn about itself and its identity.

The first step happens this weekend when Jones gets back on the field.
