Every NFL quarterback needs at least one mentor to help them navigate the complicated and unforgiving landscape of modern-day pro football.
For New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, that person is his predecessor, Eli Manning.
Buy Giants TicketsJones, in an interview with FanDuel TV’s Kay Adams, admitted that Eli is “that guy for me.”
"He's been in my shoes. He's been there most recently, dealt with the same things that I'm dealing with now."

“I see him a good bit,” Jones said. “He’s probably been that guy for me the most when I’ve had something come up or just a question you want to know. He’s been in my shoes — a guy who’s been there most recently and dealt with a lot of the same things that I’m dealing with now. So, to have him kind of as that guy for me has been extremely helpful.”
Eli retired after the 2019 season, handing the reins over to Jones, but has stayed connected to the New York/New Jersey area and his former team. Jones says he is ‘always around’ and that he frequently reaches out to Eli when he has questions or an issue.
This summer, Jones stayed at Manning’s home in The Hamptons as an illustration of their close friendship.
