Giants’ Daniel Jones exits Dolphins game with neck injury

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was bound to suffer an injury behind a wildly underperforming offensive line and that prophecy became a reality on Sunday.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Jones was sacked by Andrew Van Ginkel — the sixth sack he suffered on the day — and was slow to get up. He was looked at by trainers and swiftly ushered into the medical tent.

Moments later, Jones, who was relieved by Tyrod Taylor, emerged and headed straight to the locker room. He was promptly ruled out with a neck injury.

In 2021, Jones suffered a cervical spine injury and missed the final six games of the regular season. That injury required surgery and there was legitimate concern about his health at that point.

It’s unclear if Sunday’s injury, which was suffered on the 16th sack taken over the past two games, is related to that earlier neck/spine injury.
