The New York Giants saved their season with a stunning comeback victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
The Giants were down 20-0 at halftime and trailed 21 in the second half before quarterback Daniel Jones thrust the team onto his shoulders and rallied them to a 31-28 victory. It was the largest Giants comeback win in almost 100 years.
Buy Giants TicketsIt was a bit bittersweet, however. Running back Saquon Barkley suffered an ankle injury with under 2:00 to go and it’s unclear how severe things are or how much time (if any) he will miss.
Still, Giants Nation erupted on social media following the game. Here is how X, formerly known as Twitter, reacted.
Season-saver for the Giants. Escape with 31-28 victory over Cardinals. Tied a franchise record by overcoming 21-point deficit.
A win is a win in this league. #Giants

Where are all of the #DanielJones haters now?!? Biggest #Giants comeback in 73 years. All that despite 2 big #EvanNeal penalties. All of you owe him an apology. You have showed us all your lack of football knowledge.

After going down 20-0 at halftime, the Giants pull off an incredible comeback.
Just an edge from Daniel Jones and rest of offense to get in synch and score on each possession of the 2nd half. Defense held up thier end with two key three-and-outs
Giants get first win, 31-28

That’s the seventh fourth-quarter comeback of Daniel Jones’ career. He overcame an 18-point deficit in his first ever start. He and the #Giants erased a 21-point #AZCardinals lead today, though the win comes with an injury to Saquon Barkley on a short week.

Daniel Jones looked very underpaid in the second half, and that’s why the Giants won a wild game they absolutely could not afford to lose.

THE NEW YORK GIANTS ARE BACK!!
One of the greatest comebacks in team history, on the back of QB Daniel Jones.
Put those mock drafts away. There is a season to play.#NYGiants #TommysTakes🎙️

A little bittersweet with the Saquon Barkley injury but incredible comeback by the #Giants who looked like a completely different offense and showed insane guts to save their season. And that’s exactly what it was. The season was over if 0-2 going to San Fran on short rest.
