A giant phallic symbol has been mown onto the lawn of Royal Crescent ahead of the King's Coronation. Residents and passersby were shocked to find a 30-foot symbol in the shape of a giant penis on the grounds in Bath.
On Thursday morning, it appears the shape had been carved out on to the grass but there is a mystery as to who was responsible for the act just days before the King is due to be coronated, reports SomersetLive.
Street parties, picnics and gatherings are being planned across the UK including at the grounds of the Royal Crescent in Bath which was first built back in 1767 and is of Georgian architectural style. It is considered to be one of the UK's most exclusive streets.
The lawn often touted as 'perfect' is one of the city's key landmarks with the area achieving UNESCO World Heritage status previously. The potential vandal has said to have shocked residents of Bath with the act.
A "Grand Coronation" party is planned for Saturday May 6 on the grounds, with a flyer reading: ''Celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Georgian era.
"Decorate your own regal crown, watch demonstrations on royal fashion and visit the Georgian Cook cooking up delicious recipes in the kitchen.''
The grounds are under the care of the The Crescent Lawn Company, which was set up twenty years ago. GloucesterLive say both The Crescent Lawn Company and Bath and North East Somerset Council have been contacted for comment.
