Former 80s movie star turned reality TV contestant Mickey Rourke is having a big old sook after being kicked off Celebrity Big Brother for inappropriate language and behaviour. Now, he’s reportedly considering legal action to recoup the cashola he would have received if he hadn’t been booted from the house.
It’s giving: an entitled, problematic old-school celebrity who has never faced the repercussions of his own actions.

In case you missed it, Mickey Rourke is a 72-year-old American actor known for roles in films such as Sin City and The Wrestler. He recently appeared on the latest season of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK alongside JoJo Siwa, television presenter AJ Odudu, Love Island star Chris Hughes and English television personality Ella Rae Wise. During his short time in the house, he managed to land himself in controversy with all of the contestants mentioned above.
He brought Siwa to tears with homophobic language, made Wise uncomfortable with lewd comments and “ogled” Odudu. However, it was his conflict with Hughes that saw Big Brother kick Rourke out of the house.
During a pirate-themed challenge, Rourke accused Hughes of “eyeballing him”.
“Don’t fucking eyeball me. You c*nt,” he said, causing Big Brother to step in and demand Rourke head to the diary room.

According to TMZ and Us Weekly, Rourke is incredibly salty after being kicked off the show early and is reportedly looking into taking out legal action against ITV, the company that produces Celebrity Big Brother in the UK.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Rourke’s rep, Kimberley Hines, confirmed that his legal team is taking matters into their own hands.
“Big Brother is now refusing to pay Mickey his full agreed-upon fee. His legal team is currently pursuing the matter,” Hines said.
“To use his name and image in this way, after a long and accomplished career, is an insult to a true cinematic icon. It disregards his legacy and crosses the line of basic respect, both within the industry and on a personal level.”

Hines claimed that the producers only got Rourke on the show because of his “Hollywood rebel image”.
“They knew his presence would be explosive, controversial and attention-grabbing — and that’s exactly what they got and more,” she continued.
“They even promoted his provocative personality, which had already been well documented in the press, and has become even more evident since the show aired.”
Hines says that Big Brother and ITV’s portrayal of Rourke has taken it too far by “publicly embarrassing him and using his removal as a marketing tool”.
“That’s not just unprofessional; it’s deeply disrespectful and damaging,” Kimberley concluded.
Hines, per TMZ, is claiming that ITV is using Rourke’s exit from the show to “strategically not have to fulfill their financial obligations”.
The gossip publication also claims that Rourke is seeking cash from ITV after he racked up a doozy of a hotel bill for himself and his team when he arrived in the UK for the appearance.
TMZ also alleges that Rourke booked a luxury hotel room for him and his team, estimated to cost a whopping $50,000 USD ($78,822.70 AUD), after being contractually promised first-class accommodations for him and his team. Sadly for Rourke, the big dogs at ITV said they’d only cover $300 per night, leaving him with a doozy of a hotel bill.
To make matters worse, insiders have spilt to TMZ that Rourke only did the show because he was on struggle street financially and had to pay off some debts.
Ouchie mama!
It’s all very dramatic.
My hot take? Just because someone has a public persona as a Hollywood bad boy, it doesn’t mean they get a free pass to say whatever the fuck they want. If that was the case, we’d just be awarding bad behaviour more than we already do.
Personally, I think Mickey Rourke is just a big baby who needs to get a grip and shut the fuck up. But hey, that’s just my two cents.
