The Milwaukee Bucks’ 112-108 defeat at the hands of the Houston Rockets marked their third loss in the last four games. It also sparked arguably one of the most detailed and head-turning speeches of the season from Giannis Antetokounmpo, which was detailed in full by The Athletic’s Eric Nehm.
While speaking about the team’s recent struggles, Antetokounmpo covered everything from the team’s defensive struggles to overall effort when on the floor, all the way to imploring every single person in the Bucks organization to simply be better.
Including the equipment manager.
“We have to be better. We have to play better. We have to defend better. We have to trust one another better. We have to be coached better. Every single thing, everybody has to be better. Everybody. It starts from the equipment manager. He has to wash our clothes better. The bench has to be better. The leaders of the team have to be more vocal. We have to make more shots. We have to defend better. We have to have better strategy. We have to be better…
“We have four months to get better, so let’s see.”
While the speech featured a number of essential topics, Antetokounmpo (while making sure to include himself in each area of improvement) imploring the equipment manager to wash clothes better was quite the hilarious added touch.
Fortunately, the Bucks are in a good spot to be able to figure out any looming issues. They’re currently 25-11 and are second in the Eastern Conference, 3.5 games back of the Boston Celtics.
