Earlier this year, BBC sitcom Ghosts' fourth series ended with a shock-exit for Katy Wix's character Mary. Now, it's time to head back to Button House for the festive season.
Ghosts began in 2019 and follows a collection of ghosts from different historical periods haunting a country house while sharing the house with its new living occupants. Since its release, reviews for the series have been overwhelmingly positive and it is set to return for a fifth series next year.

Who is in the cast of Ghosts?
The Ghosts Christmas special will see Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe reprise their roles as Alison and Mike Cooper, the young married couple who are responsible for Button House and its inhabitants.
Their co-stars (and series creators) Mathew Baynton (Thomas), Simon Farnaby (Julian), Martha Howe-Douglas (Lady Button), Jim Howick (Pat), Laurence Rickard (Robin/Humphrey) and Ben Willbond (the Captain) will also be back, along with Lolly Adefope as Kitty.
What is the plot?
In this year's special, Alison and husband Mike are spending Christmas Day with Mike’s family, and before they go, Alison leaves a present for each of her ghostly housemates. The gift for Pat proves particularly poignant and gives him pause for thought about his past life.
But when Alison and Mike get stuck in traffic and have to head home, Alison is amazed to find that the spectres have laid on a spectacular gift for her, too.
When is the Ghosts Christmas Special on?
This year's Ghosts Christmas Special airs on Christmas Day at 7.25pm on BBC One. The episode will then be available to watch on BBC iPlayer straight after.
