Ghislaine Maxwell asked Elon Musk to 'destroy the internet' before notorious party photo

Teen sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell told Elon Musk “to destroy the internet” after asking him if it was possible to be removed from the web, it has been claimed.

The Tesla CEO claimed to have been quizzed by the disgraced socialite at a 2014 Vanity Fair party where a photo of the two together emerged.

Musk, 51, has denied knowing Maxwell several times and has claimed she “photo-bombed” him.

Claims about their alleged chat were revealed by a Vanity Fair employee, who says she was standing next to Maxwell, 60, and Musk at the time.

According to the New York Times the New York Times: “The pair chatted.

“Ms Maxwell asked Mr Musk if there were a way to remove oneself from the internet and encouraged Mr Musk to destroy [it].”

The alleged conversation came as interest surged in Maxwell over her relationship with Prince Andrew and convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Earlier this year, she was sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping the late Wall Street financier in his sex trafficking scheme.

She is serving her time at Florida’s low-security FCI Tallahassee prison.

During their alleged conversation, Maxwell also allegedly asked why aliens had yet to make contact with humans.

“Musk replied that all civilisations eventually end – including Maxwell’s hypothetical alien one – and raised the possibility that humans are living in a simulation,” the magazine source claimed.

The South African, worth an estimated £199 billion, has addressed the photo of him and Maxwell several times after being accused of befriending her.

He once tweeted: “She photobombed me at a Vanity Fair Oscar party. Was there with Tallulah Riley [his second wife]. Don’t know Ghislaine at all. Why do you think it should be a bigger story?”

In 2020, he reiterated his stance, adding: “Real question is why VF invited her in the first place.”

Meanwhile, as reported yesterday, Musk has denied claims he spoke directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin before tweeting out his widely criticised proposal to end the war in Ukraine.

Musk proposed Crimea be formally recognised as a part of Russia and further elections held in the annexed areas, but under UN supervision.

Political scientist Ian Bremmer claimed that the Tesla CEO told him about the discussion with Putin and that the Russian dictator was "prepared to negotiate", but only if certain requirements were met.

But since when asked if the claims, published by Vice were true, the billionaire tweeted: "No, it is not. I have spoken to Putin only once and that was about 18 months ago. The subject matter was space."
