Ghetto Golf owner secures £5m investment for expansion

The company behind Ghetto Golf has secured a £5m investment to continue its expansion of entertainment venues across the UK.

The business secured the investment from a company which partners with ITV to develop, own and operate Ninja Warrior, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here and The Chase family entertainment venues. Liverpool-based Big Fang Collective has been backed by Imbiba, whose investments also include Pizza Pilgrims, NQ64 and House of Gods, BusinessLive reports.

Founded in 2016, the business has locations in Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Sheffield and Glasgow across its Ghetto Golf, Golf Fang and Birdies Bar brands. The investment will allow The Big Fang Collective to continue its expansion, as the group actively looks to acquire new venues in many other cities across the UK, with seven new venues already planned in the next two years.

Imbiba partner Andrew Stones said: "We are extremely excited to be investing in Big Fang Collective, they are a market leader delivering unforgettable experiences across their entertainment hubs. Their creative approach, operational excellence and ambition mean there’s so much more to see from Big Fang Collective and we’re proud to be facilitating this growth."

In a joint statement, Kip Piper and Daniel Bolger, the founders of Big Fang Collective, added: "We created our first concept with a desire to change the way the UK enjoys itself. We wanted to create a multi sensory experience that was far more than just golf. We soon found ourselves surrounded by like-minded and incredibly talented individuals from all walks of life.

"It’s this multidisciplinary pool of artists, DJs, chefs and creatives that transform these sites into venues that quite literally blow people’s minds. This investment from Imbiba will not only give each of those creatives even more space for expression but will allow us to recruit talent in cities across the UK, expand into overseas markets, futureproof the brand and deliver even more exciting concepts as a group."
