Gethin Jones has sent a sweet message to his BBC Morning Live co-star Dr Xand after attending his wedding in Verona over the weekend. The presenter shared a string of snaps from the big day and confirmed he would be returning to screens on Tuesday, July 11, after taking Monday off to recover.
Gaby Roslin stood in for the Welsh host alongside Michelle Ackerley on Monday, July 10, with Gethin confirming he was taking the day for "recovery" after a weekend away celebrating his colleague and friend.
Posting stunning photographs from the Italian wedding, the 45-year-old wrote on Sunday, July 9: "Ok. I've finally had to give him up! But I do this in the knowledge that he's going to his 'perfect human' (that’s for you @fenellat (quality speech)."

In a message to Xand's wife, Dolly, Gethin continued: "Dynamic @dolitics has the hugest heart, the best sense of humour, an amazing brain, so so kind and is just 100% fun! It's no wonder they are a perfect match. So special to be part of their weekend. (I took maybe 3 photos - says it all, I will find some more!)"
He added: "Lovely to spend a long weekend in Verona to be with the wedding gang! Tmrw is recovery! See you Tuesday."
BBC Morning Live also wished the newlyweds well in a tweet that read: "Congratulations to @xandvt and @DollyvanT who had their wedding celebration in Italy over the weekend. @GethincJones is back on Tuesday, @MichAckerley and @GabyRoslin will see you at 9:15am tomorrow."
It comes after the BBC favourites spent the weekend celebrating Dr Xand's stag do in Suffolk last month. At the time, Gethin took to Instagram to share snaps with the "amazing group of fellas" he spent the weekend with.
He jokingly added: "When the stag was being organised, Xand told me to take the Monday off cos it would be 'epic'. So I did. He didn’t tell me HE would be on the show. The donut. He’s made me look bad in front of the boss." You can read more on this here.
