Gethin Jones has teased that his BBC Morning Live co-star Dr Xand has made him "look bad in front of the boss" after the expert showed up for work on Monday, June 26 despite telling the Welsh presenter to book the day off.
It comes after the BBC favourites spent the weekend celebrating Dr Xand's stag do in Suffolk, but on Monday's show Dr Xand returned to screens while Gordon Smart, who made his debut on the show, replaced Gethin.
As Gordon and Michelle Ackerley hosted the first show of the week, Michelle turned to her co-star and said: "I have to say Xand, I'm quite surprised you are here because it was your stag do at the weekend, wasn't it?"

Responding, he said: "I am a turn-up guy you know, I'm here. Who is not here is Gethin Jones, who booked the day off in anticipation of feeling..."
Michelle then cut in: "He said he was going to take today off in solidarity with you because you might not want to come in on a Monday."
Dr Xand then explained it was a "very civilised, middle-aged stag" and that he enjoyed an afternoon nap during the "lovely, quiet" affair that saw the group go swimming in Suffolk.
"This is the difference between doctors and TV presenters," Gordon said. "That's why I'm here because Gethin couldn't make it. But I have seen a bit of picture evidence which does look quite civilised."
It comes after Gethin took to Instagram last night to share snaps with the "amazing group of fellas" he spent the weekend with. However, he was forced to explain: "When the stag was being organised, Xand told me to take the Monday off cos it would be 'epic'. So I did.
"He didn’t tell me HE would be on the show. The donut. He’s made me look bad in front of the boss." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
