Get Ready for the 2025 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials, as Dates Announced

Motorcycles, in general, are polarizing in the sense that some people love them, and some hate them. Motorcycle racing takes this polarization and makes it even more extreme. But something about the Bonneville salt flats transcends the stereotypical view of gearheads.

Maybe it's because it's a romanticized type of racing on a track that's been in use since 1912, or maybe it's because people saw the World's Fastest Indian and love Anthony Hopkins. Whatever the case, you don't have to be a speed freak to enjoy the motorcycle speed trials at Bonneville, but it makes it even better if you are.

This year, fans can indulge in five days of fun from August 23-28 and cheer on competitors in three classes.

Riders who want to live the dream of ripping up the flats can ride their own bikes in the Run Watcha Brung series, which is open to street bikes. Those in search of an AMA National Record can sign up for the AMA Land Speed Grand Championship.

But there's one category that draws far more eyeballs than any other, and it's for those chasing global recognition as the fastest person in the world. To take a win in the FIM Land Speed World Record category is hands down the most coveted of all. The record currently sits at 376.36 mph and was set by Rocky Robinson on a Suzuki Hayabusa streamliner, also known as the "Ack Attack", in 2010.

So, this year, the question remains, as it has for the past 15 years: Who, if anyone, can hit 377 mph?

Prices for the 5-day vary depending on how many of the categories you want to view but are yet to be determined. If you've hit up Bonnivellie to watch the gladiators of straight-line speed duke it out, let us know your thoughts in the comments.
