A new job is being advertised that is a chocolate lover's dream - the chance to get paid just by sampling their favourite treat. A "high profile" firm is looking for a chocolate taster to test products and give "honest" feedback afterwards.
Recruitment consultant Contechs is handling applications for the role, which is based in Wokingham, Berkshire. "Our high profile client in the food industry is currently looking to recruit a chocolate taster to work at their busy site," says the advert, posted on LinkedIn.
"Working with a team of tasters (also known as panellists), you will taste products, provide consistent, objective and honest feedback to share opinions and to reach agreement on the taste profile of products. To work collaboratively with others, you will use a clearly defined vocabulary to describe products and to aid in the discrimination among products.
"Full training will be provided to help you develop your taste buds and the specific vocabulary required to communicate your opinions."
There are three key skills, the advert says - the ability to identify small differences between products, team work and communication. Applicants must be able to use computer software, be a non-smoker and have basic literacy and numeracy plus a "love of chocolate".
The role is for eight hours per week, on a 12-month rolling contract with the view to extend. "Due to the high level of applicants, only successful candidates will be contacted," says the advert. "If you think you have what it takes to fulfil the role, we want to hear from you now."

The advert adds: "Unfortunately candidates requiring visa sponsorship cannot be considered for this role. To apply you must have either an EU/UK passport or a visa that does not require sponsorship."
Charlotte Davies, careers expert at LinkedIn, said: “Getting paid to spend your days taste testing chocolate is surely a childhood dream come true."
