POP singer Will Young reportedly cut short his “tricky” gig in Dundee after he was heckled by his own fans.
The Pop Idol winner was performing an intimate show at the Gardyne Theatre on Tuesday night as part of his Light it Up Live tour.
The English singer and songwriter was playing stripped-back versions of some of his best-known hits as well as sharing stories from his career.
However, it is reported that after being heckled by at least one audience member the musician walked off the stage, failing to return, after playing his hit Leave Right Now.
After the show, Young posted on his Instagram story that the show had been “tricky” due to “some overexcited hecklers”.
One fan who spoke to the Courier said the musician “went off” 45 minutes early due to a woman shouting at him to “get on with it”.
They said: “He did pull her up and the audience all cheered for him. He sang a couple more songs then disappeared.
“We didn’t really know if he was coming back but he didn’t – shame.”
According to another fan who spoke to the newspaper, two other people in the audience were “singing/talking the whole time” and were also “shouting out to hear certain songs”.
The fan added: “(Young) a few more songs – it was great by the way – then did Leave Right Now and walked off.
“No goodnight, nothing.
“The whole audience looked stunned and confused.”
The singer will continue the Scottish leg of his tour as he plays The Queens Hall in Edinburgh on Friday and then Edmiston House in Glasgow on Saturday.
