'Get him on the phone!' - Man United fans make James Garner demand after Bruno Fernandes praise

James Garner once again caught the attention of Manchester United fans as Nottingham Forest eased to victory over Blackpool.

The on-loan midfielder was instrumental as Steve Cooper’s side demonstrated their promotion credentials with a 4-1 win at Bloomfield Road. The visitors stormed into a 3-0 lead before the break thanks to Philip Zinckernagel and Brennan Johnson’s double, before Sam Surridge made it four eight minutes from time.

It was Garner though that had United fans purring as he once again impressed with his display from midfield. The loanee has done his chances of breaking into the Reds’ side next season no harm with his performances since the turn of the year for Forest.

And fans were once again vocal in calling for the 21-year-old to be given his opportunity in the first team next season. With United looking to bolster their midfield options in the summer, Garner could provide an option much closer to home.

Garner’s latest performance comes after he was given the nod of approval by Bruno Fernandes to break into the first team at Old Trafford. The Portuguese ace is hoping to get the chance to form a potent partnership with the academy graduate after signing a new deal, which keeps him at United until 2026.

Participating in a Twitter Q&A to celebrate his new deal, Fernandes was asked: "#AskBruno, who's the player from the academy that you really look forward to playing with one day?" Fernandes, issuing a two-word response, said: "James Garner."
