Oura Ring Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2024: This is the best deal of the year

One of the most sought-after designs in wearable tech is now in Amazon's early Black Friday sale

The Oura ring, spotted on the digits of household names like Jennifer Aniston, Sir Richard Branson, Prince Harry and most of the England football squad, is one of the leading and covetable brands in wearable jewellery.

The Gen3 ring, which comes in two designs and six finishes each, is packed with sensors that can do it all from tracking physical activity, to detecting body temperature changes, heart rate monitoring, sleep quality and so much more.

(Oura)

I've had mine since September 2024, and am consistently amazed at how much information it can gather from those three sensors tucked behind the unassuming minimal band. It’s far more comfortable than wearing a smartwatch - and needs less recharging too, which is my main gripe about the clever wrist candy - and blends into my usual jewellery, sitting seamlessly in a finger stack on the index or middle finger, which both give the best readings.

Aside from fitness metrics encouraging me to move more over the day (a much-needed nudge when I’m remote working) and giving myself a little pat on the back when I’ve hit my steps, insight into sleep quality made me understand why I wasn’t feeling my best on a particular day.

As someone whose time of the month usually comes as a surprise, I was stunned when the O ring (as it’s known amongst its glitzy clientele) detected a drop in body temperature and predicted my period would turn up that day - which it did.

(Oura)

All data and readings are shown on Oura’s smartphone app, which you’ll need to download to get the best out from it. You’ll also find suggestions and advice related to your scores: meditation if your sleep is out of whack, how to manage stress, readiness reports that will tell you how primed you are to take on draining activities like a long journey or a tough workout. It can even integrate with 40+ apps, like Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Natural Cycles, Flo, Strava and more so you can match up your data with your health goals - great if you’re training for something like a marathon.

If you’re someone who values insights into your mental health as well as the physical, an Oura ring is an invaluable piece of tech worth investing in.

And with Black Friday here, that investment has become a little easier to bear. Amazon’s early Black Friday offers have wiped £70 off the RRP of the Oura Gen3.

If you don’t know your ring size (Oura’s are different to the standard so don’t just pick your usual), get the brand’s sizing kit first. You’ll get £10 Amazon credit to put towards an Oura ring, so you’re not losing out on anything.
