Get 50% off a Kindle with this Amazon Prime Day 2022 deal

We all know how cumbersome books can be. They take up space in your bag, sap all your upper body strength (if you’ve ever read Harry Potter or Lord Of The Rings, you know what I’m talking about), and often end up damaged by the time you’re finished with them.

A Kindle solves all of these problems. They’re small, light, give you access to thousands of books at the click of a button, and are widely considered the best eReaders out there. What better time to upgrade your reading game than during Amazon Prime’s 48 hour sale extravaganza on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 July, where prices are slashed by up to 50 per cent?

Whether you’re an avid reader or just like to dabble with a romantic novel whilst on holiday, Amazon offers a selection of books to suit any taste. What’s more, with your Prime membership you’ll gain access to Prime Reading, a rotating selection of books, magazines, and comics that are available for no extra cost.

If you’re a bedtime bookworm or prefer a bit of escapism on your commute, the adjustable light on a Kindle lets you read comfortably for hours, indoors and outdoors, day and night. With a month’s worth of reading in one full charge, you’ll never be without entertainment again.

There are varying models of the OG reader available. You can choose the basic kindle, the Paperwhite, with a larger screen and waterproof feature, or the Oasis, the premium option with a slightly brighter and larger display, sleeker design, and buttons which are perfect for one-handed reading.

So it’s time to cart your old books off to the charity shop, say hello to some extra storage space, and wave goodbye to dusty bookshelves forever, all for a discounted price. Whilst you’re at the stage of increasing the tech presence in your life, shop the best Prime Deals on laptops, TVs, tablets and smartwatches. You can thank us later.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?

It’s already started! The sale is taking place from 00:01 on Tuesday July 12 until 23:59 on Wednesday July 13 so you have a full 48 hours to check out with the best bargains in your basket.

Do you need a Prime account to get the deals?

Yes, as you can guess from the name, you’ll need to be signed up to Amazon’s Prime membership to access the sales. But the benefits don’t stop there: you’ll also be blessed with next day delivery, Amazon Books (perfect for your new Kindle), Video and Music, among other exclusive services.

If you’re new to the subscription, you can test it commitment-free for 30 days to see if it’s right for you. Otherwise, it will set you back £7.99 a month or £79 for a full year, which would make it slightly cheaper overall. If you’re a student, you get nearly 50 per cent off, having to spend only £3.99 per month - lucky you!

What type of Prime Day deals are available?

Most of the deals will be available for the duration of the event, but you’ll have to be hot off the mark to make the most of the other time sensitive deals that will be available.

First of all you have Lightening Deals which will only be available for a matter of hours, and then you have the Deals Of The Day which last 24 hours, or as long as stocks last.

Make sure you bookmark our live blog so you don’t miss out on snapping them up before they’re gone.
