Gerry Cinnamon plays emotional tribute to Billy Connolly at Hampden Park gig

Years later than planned, Gerry Cinnamon finally took to the stage at Hampden Park for the first night of his sell-out shows.

Gerry had the crowd going predictably mental with hits from his two albums but also chucked in a special tribute for another very famous and adored Glaswegian. Sir Billy Connolly took centre stage during the set as the musician played his own rendition of 'I Wish I Was in Glasgow'.

The crowd enjoyed a sing-along with lyrics shown on the screen alongside a classic picture of the Big Yin.

Gerry previously performed the tribute at his show at the Hydro in 2019 but it was that wee bit more emotional in front of the crowd of 50,000.

Gerry will be back at Hampden Park tonight (Sunday) for the second night of his record-breaking run of shows. He's managed to take the title of most tickets ever sold by a Scottish artist.
