Germany has dropped all Covid-19 entry rules for travellers, meaning UK holidaymakers can enter the country restriction-free.
German authorities last week confirmed that as of June 11, all entry restrictions would be provisionally lifted.
This means travellers from across the world no longer need to provide proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test upon arrival, whatever their reason for travel.
The UK's Foreign Office website has since been updated and states: "Since Saturday, 11 June 2022, all COVID-19-related restrictions for entry into Germany have been lifted."
It is reported that the easing of restrictions is a response to high vaccination rates in Germany and throughout the world, as well as low case numbers.
However, officials have emphasised that there is one exception to the news.
Those travelling from the People's Republic of China still need to provide an essential reason for entering Germany, according to SchengenVisaInfo.
Several other EU countries have also lifted entry restrictions for all travellers.
The list of countries with no travel rules include:
- Austria
- Belgium
- Bulgaria
- Czechia
- Croatia
- Cyprus
- Denmark
- Greece
- Hungary
- Iceland
- Ireland
- Italy
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- Norway
- Poland
- Romania
- Slovenia
- Sweden
