Conspiracy theorists are clutching at a new potential date for ‘Doomsday’ style events as fears over Vladimir Putin’s next move grow.
There are hundreds of accounts online claiming there may be a nuclear attack launched on September 24 which will kick off World War Three.
The bizarre claims came after the Russian President published a harrowing warning to the West claiming ‘every line’ had been crossed by Western leaders as he reminded the public that Russia is in possession of weapons of mass destruction.

He insisted that ‘this is not a bluff,’ warning Western leaders not to launch an attack on Russia or they will fight back with all they have.
In response to this, numerous online accounts have been spreading their theory of a Doomsday situation fast approaching - in just 24 hours.
Adding to the widespread panic online - filled with conspiracies of natural disasters, zombies, and WWIII - further fears were raised after a video of a German politician making a recent speech was misinterpreted.
Friedrich Metz, a member of the German Parliament, was giving a public address which was posted on Twitter, in which he said: "Dear Colleagues…September 24, 2022 will be remembered by all of us as a day which we will say, 'I remember exactly where I was…?'"
The Twitterverse exploded in panicked responses to the video, with one account writing: "What the f*** are they planning on 24 September 2022!!”
People began to assume that the German politician was referencing a move by Putin to cause widespread destruction in response to his losses in Ukraine.
Some even said an extreme solar flare was due to hit earth creating a tropical cyclone on September 24, which would cause mass destruction.
One Twitter user said of Putin: "This psycho is moving the needle on the Doomsday Clock forward because like someone we all know, his ego can’t stand to be embarrassed like the global joke he is. Dangerous lunatic."
Another wrote "time to move the Doomsday Clock,” while a third asked: "Does anyone know what's going to happen on September 24, 2022? I have a feeling it'll be blamed on Putin. Just saying. Or will they take Putin out? Who knows?"
However, according to Space Weather’s forecast, there is no evidence of a solar flare due to hit the earth - of any magnitude.
As people continued to forecast September 24 as Doomsday, it was confirmed that there was a misunderstanding stemming from Metz misspeaking during his address.
He was speaking on the invasion of Ukraine by Russia on February 24 this year, when he accidentally said September instead of February.
The official transcript of the speech has since been updated to say February to correct the mistake.
