The major security operation by police in Munich last night was hailed a success, as England fans steered clear of trouble.
There were just 11 arrests — six England supporters and five Germans — which police said mirrored those of a regular Bundesliga fixture.
Of the arrests of England fans, one was for assaulting a police officer, another was for insulting an officer, while two were related to the use of flares.
One supporter was arrested for stealing another fan’s ticket and another was arrested over an allegation of sexual harassment at a bar.
England had an allocation of 3,466 tickets for the game but it is estimated there were more than 5,000 travelling fans in Munich.
There had been fears of crowd trouble after hundreds of England fans bought tickets in the Germany end.
Munich police duly put together a special operation involving 700 officers, with police reporting the mood was largely calm and that England fans behaved well.
